ANOTHER RANT

I know I rant, but I believe these are needed rants to get people thinking. So here’s another rant about the problem we have in the Christian church today. 

The problem with the church is, we don’t want anybody to confront us and make us feel uneasy. Nobody wants accountability, because we don’t want people telling us what to do. But I look at it this way. If God lead somebody to confront you because you are being stupid in your actions, then that is what should happen. But the church has become full of a bunch of pansies who don’t want confrontation and who only want to be made to feel warm and fuzzy all over. We don’t want any change in our lives. We have the wrong idea about what the Christian Life is supposed to be about. It’s not about being all warm and fuzzy. It’s about doing what Christ have us do, even when it hurts. 

It’s time to church feels conviction. It’s time to church feels that uncomfortable feeling of being confronted. It’s time the church is hit with some major truth, that were play acting. We are pretending to be something that we‘re not. We’re supposed to be the Church of the Lord, representing the true person of Christ to the world, but we are acting. Our hearts are in the world and not in Christ, but nobody wants to realize that. And if they do realize that, their hearts are so cold that the Christian doesn’t care. Well, one of these days, they will care. Because God just might have to take you to the Woodshed for a whoopin. Believe me, you don’t want that.

So, what do we do about it? We actually stop portraying ourselves as Christians who supposedly love the Lord, but actually love the world more. We are a bunch of actors trying to fool, not only the world, but God himself. Let me tell you, I’ve tried that, it does not work. God sees right through our BS. So if we’re going to actually say we are Christian, let’s live like Christians, as Christ would have us live.

We need to be confronted with our own sin and made to feel uncomfortable and convicted so we will change. And if you don’t want that, seriously want that, then there’s a problem between you and God, and you need to get it straightened out before he has to take and punish you. And you don’t want that either.
