A few months ago I was watching a documentary on a rock musician from the 80s who was, and still is, one of the biggest names in rock history. Him and his band toured the world and made all this money and collected all these Awards and bought all these houses and cars and all these luxuries, going all the way back to the early 80s, but it’s all wasted. Not one thing he has done has any Eternal value. His whole life’s work is wasted. People spend their entire lives collecting things that they think will make them happy and bring joy to their lives and get praise from people all over the world, but not the one that they should get praise from, the Lord. And when they pass away, their entire life’s work is burned up in flames. Tragically, even Christians can fall into that, because their Focus was never completely on doing something for Christ. Is what we’re doing, no matter what it is, no matter how little we think it is, something that will have eternal value, something that will last for eternity and be praised by God above?
